You’ve worked hard. You wrote your content, added pictures, and made your website or email look good. Now you’re ready to share it with the world. But wait, before you hit “publish,” there are three important things you should do.
These steps will help protect your business, make it easier for people to find you, and make your message clear. They are especially helpful if English is not your first language and you want your audience to understand you and trust you.
Let’s go through them one by one.
1. Protect Your Website and Content Legally
When you publish something online, like a website, blog, or sales page, you must follow certain laws. This protects both you and your visitors.
What you need:
Privacy Policy – This tells people how you collect and use their personal information (like names or emails). It is required by law in many countries.
Terms and Conditions – This explains the rules for using your site or buying your services/products.
Disclaimer – If you give advice (such as health, money, or personal development), this tells people you are not responsible for what they do with that advice.
Check for Copyright or Trademark – Make sure your brand name, logo, and images are not already owned by someone else. You don’t want to use someone else’s protected content by mistake.
💡 Tip: Use legal templates such as the ones here. They’ll save you a lot of heartache and possible legal trouble in the future.

2. Make Your Site Easy to Find (Use SEO)
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. This helps people find your website when they search on Google or other search engines.
If you don’t use SEO, even a great website may not be seen.
Easy ways to start:
Use keywords – Think about what words people type when they search for your service or blog. Use those words in your titles and text.
Write a clear title and meta description – These are the words that show up in Google results. Keep them short, clear, and helpful.
Use alt text on images – This is a short sentence that describes each image. It helps people using screen readers, and it helps Google understand your pictures.
Check mobile view – Many people use phones to read websites. Make sure your site looks good on small screens.
💡 Tip: Start with one page. You can improve more later.
3. Make Sure Your Message Is the Same Everywhere
Your website, blog, emails, and social media should all have the same message and tone. This helps people know you, trust you, and remember you.
This is called brand consistency.
Ask yourself:
Do I clearly explain what I do?
Can people understand who my service or blog is for?
Do my colors, photos, and words feel the same across all platforms?
Does this sound like me or my business?
💡 Tip: You can create a simple “brand guide” to help. Include your colors, font, tone (friendly, expert, caring, etc.), and a short mission.
Before You Go Live, Check These 3:
✅ Is my website protected by law?
✅ Is it easy to find with SEO?
✅ Is my message the same everywhere?
If you said yes to all three, you're ready to share your site with the world!
If not, that’s okay. You can start fixing these today.
To your success,
Bree
